REMOTE RUNNING COACHING
Throughout my running career, I have had many successes, failures, highs and lows in long distance endurance running, but it was through these experiences that I’ve developed into the person I am today. I have set up James Gibson Coaching to share my passion, knowledge, experience and motivation to support your journey to achieve your goals, whatever and wherever it may be to become an even better athlete.
I believe that the key to a successful coach and athlete relationship begins with communication. With this in mind, I will first look at getting to understand you, what your goals/ ambitions are, what motivations you have and most importantly what are your commitments, life get’s in the way and that’s fine, so I will work collaboratively with you to build a relationship with flexibility in mind.
There’s no denying that this coaching process will take hours of dedication, perseverance, commitment, passion and teamwork, but through a personally designed training plan that’s based around your targets, time available and location, we will work together to help you meet your long term goal. Through endurance based training methods backed by science, I will provide you with blocks of training and recovery shaped around your commitments and lifestyle, whilst keeping sessions fun and interesting. Support is always available and honest feedback will be provided to help you stay on track. I believe in being flexible and if necessary adapting the plan to help you accomplish the best results.

INITIAL CONSULATION - Following completion of a brief questionnaire to allow me to understand your background and goals. We would have a free phone consultation at your convenience to see if I’m the right coach for you. I’d ask you further questions regarding your current goals and ambitions, along with your previous experience. We would have a discussion of what your long term aim is and how we could possibly work together to help achieve this, considering the availability you have, your current running fitness, along with any other relevant information to ensure that a possible training plan suits your needs. At this stage it’s important that you find someone that you trust and who will in turn help motivate and guide you in the right direction.

MONTHLY BESPOKE TRAINING PLAN - I would design a personalised bespoke training plan using Training Peaks (Basic Account), which would be updated every two weeks, allowing you to see any future training. I would design the programme taking into account any known commitments to help maximise the effectiveness out of each session. I would also be flexible to respond to changes in family life, work, health, fitness and also monitor any goals that may need adjusting. Additional to the package, I will also include some strength and conditioning exercises if necessary.

EVALUATION & FEEDBACK - Each week I would look at the sessions that have been completed allowing me to provide feedback to help improvement moving forward and if required, I’d suggest changes within the programme using my knowledge and experience through my own personal training, as well as using science based endurance best practices.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT - Each week we would schedule a phone call to ask any questions that need answering, along with providing feedback for the last four weeks and how we can improve training moving forward. There will also be regular contact to allow feedback using either WhatsApp to answer any questions you have regarding training/ running/ nutrition/ race preparation/ hydration and gear advice.

BESPOKE TO YOUR TRAINING GOAL PLAN - I would design a personalised bespoke and easy to follow training plan using Training Peaks (Basic Account), which would show you the entire duration of training using scientifically backed training methods. The training plan will also include some strength and conditioning exercises to help build fitness/ strength. This package doesn’t include daily/ weekly or monthly contact like the bespoke and premium options, however the odd question regarding training is adequate.

BUILT AROUND YOUR CURRENT PLANS - Following our phone conversation, I would collect as much information during the duration of the plan and design an effective programme to help you achieve your goal.
