I have been working professionally in the outdoors for the past decade and over that period of time I've gained some of the highest qualifications in the industry. I also have an abudence of experience within these activities and have been very grateful for the magical places it's not only taken myself, but allowed me to share with many different people all over the United Kingdom.

Are you looking for a thrilling adventure, but not quite ready for rock climbing, then scrambling is for you. Sitting somewhere between hill walking and rock climbing allows some incredible classic scrambles from Striding Edge on Helvellyn to the iconic Cuillin Ridge on Isle of Skye.

Scrambling certainly adds a further challenge whilst exploring the mountains. There are many scrambles situated in the Lake District, of all different technicalities to suit whatever ability you’re at. One of the finest scrambles would be Pinnacle Ridge on St. Sunday crag (grade 3),  an exciting jagged ridge line with interest from start to finish. Other scrambles in the Lakes include Jacks Rake, Striding Edge, Sharp Edge and many more.

Outside of the Lakes, there are endless opportunities of exhilarating scrambles from the Cuillin Ridge on Skye, Aonach Eagach in Glen Coe, Crib Goch and Tryfan in Snowdonia plus many more. Whatever it may be, I’ll ensure you have an amazing time.

For guided scrambling in the Lakes I charge £220, with all kit included with a 1:2 maximum ratio.

Winter can be a very challenging time of year at the best of times, even more so when you venture into the mountains with snow, ice and the elements to contend with. Unlike summer, there are essential skills and equipment that are required to move through this majestic environment, this skills are vital.

Despite winter being the most challenging time of year, it’s certainly one of the most rewarding. The sound of the wind whistling over the hills, or the crisp crunch of your crampons biting on the snow underfoot, it’s in this environment where having the essential skills to keep you safe are vital.

On this one day skills course, I will share lots of knowledge about the winter environment, including reading avalanche forecasts, gaining avalanche awareness, what kit is required in winter, how to navigate in winter, how to use winter equipment such as an ice axe and crampons, plus much more.

I charge £220 for the day on a 1:2 ratio with £40 thereafter to a maximum of 6. I also don’t have a pool of winter equipment (boots, crampons, axes etc), so this can’t be hired.

Whether it's a navigational stress free few hours in the morning or afternoon to explore some of the Lake District's finest mountains or hidden trails, or a fully immersive adventure seeing the incredible sights of the park. To perhaps gaining further skills to stay safe in the hills, look no further.

Your running experience will be designed and planned entirely for you, whether it’s getting into trail or fell running for the first time, learning how to be efficient and safe in the mountains with skills on how to navigate and look after yourself to running particular legs of the Bob Graham or similar challenges.

With local knowledge, leadership skills, mountain experience and coaching qualifications, I can tailor the day for you and cater for all types of abilities and experience.
